Reductions in Shootings and Killings in CeaseFire Zones in Chicago

CeaseFire successfully replicated in 18 communities

CeaseFire has been implemented in communities in Chicago in 3 waves, each of which demonstrated successful results. The first wave occurred from 2000 to 2004 and includes 6 communities. The second wave occurred in 2005-2006 and included 8 communities. The third wave occurred in 2006 and included 4 communities. The first wave achieved large decreases in shootings which were much greater than comparison and neighboring communities. The second and third waves replicated these results.
